After the satay celup dinner, which ended at 9.30pm, we were too full to go to bed straight away, we decided to search for a 7-11 for a 100+ and by chance we passed by this Pirate Park, with a pirated eye-on-malaysia.

p1

There is a pirate ship too! I did not ride on it, coz I just had my dinner, and I am not too good with spins. I love my camera!

p3

They have also lined the buildings around the riverbank with lights, it is a pretty sight :) you can take a river-cruise in the sampan too.

p2

And lights also hanging down from the bridge.

After some photo shooting and walking, we headed back to hotel for a rest.

After checking in hotel and had our chicken rice ball lunch, we proceeded to touring along Jonker’s Street, yeah it was my first time there. I have been to Malacca quite a couple of times, but this is my first time at Jonker’s.

jonker dessert, the museum cafe,

What’s Malacca without chendol? After walking the whole street, this is the second most-packed shop, and that’s how we decided where to eat.

dessert menu

The chendol banting right in front of the shop, it’s a self-service shop, cash and carry.

durian chendol

The regular baba chendol on the left and my baba durian chendol on the right. The chendol was alright but i wish there were more durian paste though. (more…)

Since it was last day of the year, we decided to end it with a meal that we had not tried before. And Marche (pronounced as mar-shay) that is. Many people have been there but not me. It was before 7pm so we managed to get a seat without having to Q. And we were given a Marche card each where you present it at the stalls you order food from, they will stamp your card and just give it to the cashier when you foot your bill. Beware that loss of Marche card will get you a penalty of RM200.

interior

Marche means market place, and therefore it has separate stalls just like the market. Except for the fact that it does not stink, and non-slippery, and air-conditioned.

grill

They have sections like: salad, grill, pizza, pasta, rosti, fruit juice, cold beverages and etc. I was attracted by the roast turkey breast set from this Grill stall.

roasted turkey + mashed potato

My roasted turkey breast! It is about the size of my palm at RM16.50, and topped up another RM1.50 for mashed potato, or RM5.90 for a baked potato. Surprisingly, this breast is not hard at all. But of course, it is not as juicy as steak or chicken. Love it me. You have a choice of black pepper or mushroom sauce on the side.
