The following post might intrigue some uneasy feeling among some people.
Yesterday, when I was at the MayBank ATM, something unusual happened.
There were few disabled persons, a couple of mutes, queuing up right behind me. I observed what they were doing when I was waiting for the person in front of me to process. After a few seconds of queuing, they started to be very impatient and waving their hands in the air for some really exaggerating hand signs, uh….scary I thought, but, it’s none of my business.
When it was my turn, I wanted to register my mobile number to get the TAC number, so, naturally, I had to spend more time doing that than withdrawing money alone. So, the gentleman and lady behind me were getting really impatient. I could feel hands swinging vigorously behind my back, I couldn’t be sure, I do not have eyes behind my back you see. But, my mom confirmed with me later that it really happened.
So, when I was done and leaving the ATM, I turned and had some eye contact with the lady behind me, she stared at me in a very uneasy matter, as if I had insulted her whole family and she was going to eat me. Fcuk, I thought. I did nothing to you, I didn’t look down on you, I was slow not because I meant to bully you.
No, I do not look down on disabled, but at least they could get some life and behave normally???
