July 2009

Paddington House of Pancakes has been in Malaysia and shame on me that i have just been there recently.

chips

Chips were served for two. We ordered dinner set, came with a ice lemon tea + the chips.

grilled chicken burger

Grilled chicken burger, with chicken thigh, hash brown as patty too. Love the idea of having pancake instead of normal bun.

pan fried dory

And my order: pan fried dory with pancake. I prefer the original pancake though, I think this pancake has been caramelized.

My first time going French. Thank you BigBoysOven for extending the invitation to me, it was indeed my honor, and also Shirley, who took the time to organize and making sure everything was right.

APPETIZERS
Terrine de Foie Gras maison
Homemade Goose liver terrine served with fig jam and grilled sour dough bread
RM50++

My first time having foie  gras which i had been dreaming about!

le bouchon, changkat bukit bintang

Comes with sour dough bread.

And the way to eat it! It tastes something like extra rich and smooth peanut butter without the peanut taste.  It is quite different from what I imagined. It didn’t feel like liver at all! It is best to go with the fig jam to counter the buttery feeling.

Being a frequent eat-out (which is almost 95%), I do cook sometimes with the 5% of remaining time.

Today, I am going  a very simple recipe which not much ingredients, easy and tasty!

The fried spaghetti with chicken chinese style.

s1

Ingredients for 2:

1. 2 eggs
2. minced garlic
3. pre-cooked spaghetti
4. marinated chicken and peel prawns.

You can marinate the chicken with soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper, at least an hour or 30 mins before your cooking.

s2

1. Fried the egg and chicken first. Then set aside on plate, so the chicken won’t be overcooked in the noodles.

s3

2. Heat the wok with oil, then dump in the garlic, after 5 secs, dump in the noodles and stir-fry. Depending on the noodles, you can pick a noodle to taste whether it is too soft or still al-dente. Add about a teaspoon of salt for flavor. Continue to stir fry for about 3 mins then add in the chicken. Continue for about 3 minutes and add in dark soy sauce to blacken the noodles.

appetizer deep fried potato

Finally! The appetizer arrived! It was already 8pm and my stomach was drumming like crazy. ( I usually try to have my dinner at 6 or 7pm). The deep fried potato is crispy on the outside, soft and hot on the inside. Gosh, wish I could have more of this!!!
