Tai Zi Heen Prince Hotel

Invited by Shirley from Prince Hotel and BBO,  I had the chance to spend time breaking fast with some kids, and also to enjoy the mooncake from Tai Zi Heen, Prince Hotel.

It’s also my first time testing the 5-stars mooncake!

Hong Kong White Lotus Paste and Single Egg Yolk @ RM21+/pc

Hong Kong White Lotus Paste and Single Egg Yolk @ RM21+/pc.

I was really fascinated by the clear egg yolk and the clean cut. It really resembles the moon!

Five Varieties Nuts, Rum & Raisins @ RM22+/pc

Five Varieties Nuts, Rum & Raisins @ RM22+/pc.

Again, look at how sharp the knife is? There is not a single sesame sticking from the mooncake slices.

I am not a fan of nuts, in fact they are my fear factors. But I took a bite of a slice, and I was surprised that it was not as sticky as the regular ones. Great!

Chrysanthemum Lotus Paste with Chinese Wolfberries @ RM21+/pc

Chrysanthemum Lotus Paste with Chinese Wolfberries @ RM21+/pc.

This is the traditional lotus paste but with a hint of chrysanthemum and also mixed with wolfberries. They are good for eyes.

Warning: Loaded with tonnes of pictures!

If you are a frequent of SS2, you will definitely pass and see this catchy signboard too.

P/S: I have painfully typed out chinese name of the dishes too, hope it helps some of you! :D

dragon1

In fact, it is a hidden gem that I wish I have discovered earlier. But, thanks to BigBoysOven and RedTomato,a bunch of us had the chance to discover this place.

You know why?

They actually have quite many ‘new age’ dishes in the menu!

dragon3

Meet the menu from Dragon One.

Ice “Ying Yang” in Hong Kong Style (RM5.40) & Ice Milk Tea in Hong Kong Style (RM5.00)

One of the must-have items in chinese place - Ice “Ying Yang” in Hong Kong Style (冰镇港式鸳鸯) @RM5.40.

I am a big fan of yin yang! :D The best thing about tea being soaked in ice is, when the ice melts, your tea still will not be diluted!

Passion Fruit Snow (RM6.80)

Passion Fruit Snow @ RM6.80.

Do you know of anyone who is able to resist very fine, smooth, and tasty shaved ice?

Chilled Mango Sago with Jelly (RM5.00)

Chilled Mango Sago with Jelly ( 文头杨枝金露) @ RM5.90.

Refreshing, and not overly sweet. :)

Dragon Fruit Ice Blended

Dragon Fruit Ice Blended (火龙果冰沙) @RM5.90.

Do you know I am a great fan of dragon fruit? ;)

dragon9

I was having some terrible flu on that day, and the lady boss was very sweet to offer me a cup of Boiled Coke with Ginger (生姜煲可乐) @ RM3.50.  It really works like magic to rid flu!

Sweetened Mangoes

The boss brought us a plate of mango pickles as appetizer.  Even the guys like it too!!!!

Stir-fried Rice Flour Roll with Spicy Sauce (RM4.50)

Stir-fried Rice Flour Roll with Spicy Sauce (辣香酱炒肠粉)  @ RM4.50.

This is like carrot cake….but A LOT better! As you can see, it is loaded with egg, and I usually ask for additional egg in my fried carrot cake!

Stir-Fried Bean Sheet with Preserved Vegetables (RM4.50)

Stir-Fried Bean Sheet with Preserved Vegetables (上海雪菜炒分皮) @ RM4.50.

This again is something very new to me. Is it just me being ’suaku’?

It is like…crystal kuay-teow, without the slimy feeling. I LOVE THIS!

Long-post ahead.

Finally it’s tuesday!!! and i am going to watch The Ugly Truth tonight. ^_^

Last weekend, I watched concert, for the first time in my life! Thanks to wilson to gave me the tickets!

MLTR concert tickets

Genting was packed to the max, but we were lucky to get a room in First World hotel. Although it smelt mouldy and.. what not, at least we had a place to bunk for the night!

foodcourt

Before the concert, we decided to explore the food court in First World for dinner. What attracted us the most was the aroma of bak kut teh…

bak kut teh yao tiu

A pot of bkt for 2 - RM32+. One white rice for RM2, and yao-char-kuai costs RM3.50.

The bill came to about RM46+, compared to 2 sets of MacD lunch @ RM37, bkt didn’t seem so bad.

bak kut teh

But, the meat was pathetic. It was…fatty. The soup was actually quite good but just too oily for my liking. Oh well, since it is Genting, I am not complaining much.

crowd in arena of stars

It was 9pm and the hall was packed!!!! All waiting eagerly for the appearance of Michael Learns to Rock.  Btw, professional cameras (DSLR) are not allowed into the hall.

michael learns to rock concert

Finally! It started about 9.20pm. And the crowd was excited!

I remember started listening to their songs since I was ..14, during the Paint My Love era. I was really excited about the fact that they performed all the old and famous hits. Sadly, their new songs are almost never played on the radio here. I wonder why.

The concert ended around 11.20pm and I continued to linger around Starbucks till I was really tired.

I slept till 10.30am the next day and checked out straight for brunch at Gohtong Jaya.

HELLO EVERYONE *waves madly* Finally the 3-day break is over :(

BUT is okay, because I have taken another 5  days of annual leave for this month! yeay!!!

And I still have a remaining of 13 days for this year!  ^_^ don’t be jealous of me.

On the merdeka day after I returned from kampung, I went klang for dinner!!!  Not for bak kut teh, but it’s a restaurant that i have never been to. And they have a couple of interesting famous dishes as well.

mee

Restoran Seafood Chiem Choo doesn’t look fancy from the outside.

mee1

Famous #1: Oyster mee suah.

I loveeeeeeeee the mee suah gravy! Very tasty, topped with plenty of vinegar, it is heavenly!

mee2

BUT, the oyster is quite disappointing. :( And honestly, I couldn’t taste much of it in the mee-suah.

mee3

Famous #2: Fried corn-flour noodles. It tastes like hokkien mee + kuay teow. But it is better than that.

In chinese, it is called 芡粉. However, it is very oily and loaded with pork lards. =/

I guess this is why it is tasty?

Since our arteries are already cloggged after eating the noodles, a bit more won’t harm right?
