Food

Good day people! Hope all of u had a great weekend. My weekend was great and i am having a real bad sore throat now, and i am voiceless! I hate being silent.

I don’t usually eat in Uptown, mainly because of the traffic there, as it is usually damn crowded. But, the crowd is usually better on the weekends. So, we decided to have dinner in this plain-looking restaurant but serves nice food.

They have quite an extensive menu of food, both ala-cartes noodles/rice, and also ordering dishes.

mango chicken

Mango chicken RM15.00 for small. It’s more like sweet and sour chicken with mango strips. But it was really tasty, and enough for 2 persons.

salted vege tofu soup

Ham choy soup (salted vegetable tofu soup) RM12.00 for small. It was a big bowl of soup! I don’t know how much soup i had but i was bloated. Love the soup!

For the first time, i am visiting some other bak kut teh shop beside the one in klang that i always frequent.  This Teck Kee is located in Kg Subang.

Our pot of goodness. But too bad there was no fu-chuk :( and they ran out of yao-char-guai too. The taste was not bad though. The soup was quite clear and non-oily.

Ever since I read a post on Kimchi soup on Mimi, i have been wanting to try out on my own too. Since i did not have any rice, so i decided to make a kimchi meehoon soup instead.

ready made kimchi in tesco

Buy a jar of ready-made kimchi, i got mine from tesco at RM9.90. And i didn’t know notice that there is no cabbage in it. ARGH dumb me! Boil some chicken stock soup now to add into your kimchi later.

frying the kimchi

Mince some garlic and one onion, stir fry till fragrance, then add in some kimchi and continue to stir fry. Becareful that the smell and taste of chili is VERY strong and stinging, so make sure that you have good ventilation in your kitchen.

It’s a sad monday, let me humour u guys with some of my food pictures last friday lunch. i have been there twice, and we don’t frequent there even though we are always out of ideas, mainly because of the food price. It’s quite heavy to spend like rm20 for lunch alone right?

boneless chicken leg

My lunch: Grilled boneless chicken leg with baked potato. The chicken is honey-flavored, but it is not sweet. So, the taste is quite confusing.  The baked potato is good though. RM18 for this. Worth it?

lotus leaf rice

Lotus leaf rice - RM10. It is actually smaller than it looks as the leaves are heavily padded at the bottom.

mushroom bruchetta

Starter: Mushroom bruchetta RM9. Not too bad, quite cheesy and it tastes good with the one piece!
