Food Foundry Seksyen 17

I used to stay in Seksyen 17 Petaling Jaya for about 3 years and back then I have practically tried all the eateries around the area. Food Foundry was one of the places that was quite pricey for me as I was still a student.

But not anymore :P yeay for money!

Starters

Foundry Caesar Salad RM12

Foundry Caesar Salad - RM12

Love the generous servings of the salad! If you hardly get supply for your greens, you should at least order 1 to share with your company.

Garden Salad RM8

Garden Salad - RM8

You can also order Garden Salad if you think Caesar Salad has too much dressings.

Onion Soup RM8

Soup of the day - RM8 (Onion Soup) / Sour Dough Bread (price unknown)

Tomato Cream Soup RM8

Tomoto Cream Soup - RM8

Compared to onion soup, I actually prefer this tomato cream soup.  It is sourish and creamy, tastes especially good when it is warm, dipped with sour dough bread, it is a bliss.

Main Course

Vongole RM16

Vongole - RM16

My favorite pasta of the night has to be this clams pasta. As you can see, the servings of clams are really generous and they are fresh! It doesn’t taste like the cheap lala with softer shells.  It was really aromatic with a combination of olive oil, garlic, herbs and spices. With a tinge of saltiness, love it!

Lemongrass Prawns in Spicy Volcanic Sauce RM18

Lemongrass Prawns in Spicy Volcanic Sauce - RM18

My second favorite pasta of the night would be this Lemongrass Prawns in Spicy Volcanic Sauce. Don’t get scared by the name, it is non-spicy at all (to me), but it was flavorful with the help of lemon grass, and the fat and succulent prawns made it even better.

Aglio Olio Prawns RM18

Aglio Olio Prawns - RM18

This Aglio Olio is actually quite similar to the above pasta, it is just lighter and less spicy herbs.

Seafood Marinara RM23

Seafood Marinara - RM23

If you love tomato-based pasta and seafood, this will be your best bet.

Sometimes when I am hungry at night (sometimes only seriously), I would go for a treat for my stomach at this open area of Malay stalls behind pasar TTDI.

roti john stall

I particularly love the Roti John here. It is the only Roti John that I have eaten cooked in this way.

Usually, the Roti John is a burger bun mixed with some meat and cabbage.

bun

But at this stall, the place the minced meat on top of the bun then let it fry on the hot plate.

yummy roti john

When it is flipped over, you can see the cooked meat, slightly burnt but soft!

roti john man

The young man concentrating on preparing the roti.

It was actually founded by an older man, but unfortunately he has passed on. I was glad that this young man has inherited his legacy, otherwise, I could not eat it anymore. I am not sure about their relationship though.

roti john TTDI

Roti John ready for you! I love the runny yolk, it makes the combination better! And it is only RM3.

huckle berry cafe in BSC

What do you say to a leisure afternoon tea at a nice cozy cafe?

Although it is located in Times bookstore in Bangsar Shopping Center, but Huckle Berry Cafe is not owned by Times bookstore.

huckle berry bsc interior

The small yet compact area. You can choose to seat on the couch if you wanna munch and read at the same time.

pastry selection

They have quite a variety of pastries selections in the cafe.

bickford's drinks

They are also selling interesting Bickford’s bottled drinks -RM7/bottle.

One of them is Sarsaparilla. It tasted really sarsi-ish but less carbonated.

chocolate ice and mocha ice

My drinks of the night - iced mocha and iced chocolate. I love the chocolate as it was sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet.

quiche, beef rendang cornish

Now, here comes the main course - Spinach and Bacon Quiche (RM 9), Mushroom and Onion Quiche (RM 9), Beef Rendang Cornish (RM 9).

Spinach and Bacon Quiche RM9

I actually prefer this  Spinach and Bacon Quiche specially when it is still warm.

It is soft, eggy, and tasty!

Humming Bird Cake RM9

Dessert time!

Humming Bird Cake - RM9 & Classic Choclate Cake - RM9

huckle9

Guinness Chocolate Cake RM9, Lemon Mousse Pot - RM6, Baked Cheesecake - RM8

The Guinness Chocolate Cake tastes so much like the chinese ‘huat kuih’, except for the fact that it has more moist, more chocolate and with Guinness!

Sunway Giza is really blooming with more and more food joints, first I visited Cravings, then Waroeng Mas Timoer, and then this Pot Luck Shabu-Shabu.

And you know what? All these 3 places have specials for lunch! So, it is definitely better and more worth it during lunch.

pot luck shabu shabu sunway giza

The quite grand entrance, in fact, it was the waiter who attracted our attention. He was introducing and explaining their buffet lunch which is only at RM12.80, and it is ALL YOU CAN EAT.

counter

The business was still quiet as I was there about 12pm while the Wong Kok next door was already having quite some customers.

dishes on conveyor belt

Once you step in, you can see plates and plates of vegetables and meatballs on the conveyor belt. The dishes incluce: vegetables, mushrooms, chicken meat, beef, mutton, eggs, noodles and some clams.
