Excellent and Affordable Thai Food- Thai Pan Delights @ Kuchai Lama
Posted by sloppychic under Food , ThaiFor those who know me well, they know I am a mega fan of Thai food! Finding a good Thai restaurant in Klang Valley with affordable price is really not easy.
I was excited to find out Thai Pan Delights which is located in Kuchai Lama.
Drinks for the night:
Cucumber sour plum - RM3.
Salay sour plum- RM3.
Seafood Special - RM13. It is quite a large bowl and can easily be shared by 2 or 3 persons.
What’s a Thai meal without a bowl of sour and spicy tomyam soup right? Yum yum seafood tomyam!
Pomelo Salad -RM6 was a great appetizer to kick start our appetite. It was fresh and tangy. With the juicy bits of pomelo mixed with prawns and chili padi, it was hot but it made you keep wanting for more.
Thai Fish Cake (6pcs) - RM8.50.
Fish cake was fresh and tasty, dipped into the sauce provided, perfect as an appetizer.
Green Curry Chicken - RM7.80.
Green curry was done just right, perfect for white rice.
Sweet Sour Fish - RM8.50.
Love love love the gravy of this fish! I couldn’t stop drinking the gravy. And also, fish was crispy enough to even bite the bones.
Thai Style Steamed Fish (Siakap or equivalent) RM30-RM50.
Fish was really fresh, you can literally taste the freshness from the gravy, steamed with chili padi and topped with lime, it was one of my most-favorite dishes of the day!
Pandan Chicken (6pcs) - RM8.50.
If you have been to other Thai restaurants, you will know that pandan chicken is usually very expensive. But here with only RM 8.50, you get really tasty pandan chicken!
Stir Fried KangKug Belacan - RM7.50.
Love the belacan but it was abit salty for me. The grade and taste of belacan actually vary from supplier to supplier.
One of the highlights:
Fried Belacan Rice - RM7.80.
If you are only having dinner by yourself, I would highly recommend this. See the small tiny bits of meat? It is actually pork! What you should do is: mix all the ingredients into the rice, and you will be in heaven.
My other favorite: Fried Pineapple Rice - RM7.80.
The rice was really fragrant with pineapple, and cashew nuts on top of the rice! Imagine eating this while diving in tomyam soup on a raindy day….
Basil Leave Chicken - RM7.90.
Love the combination! It tasted so much like the minced pork my mom always cooks. <3
Omelette to complete the meal.
Other than the tasty dishes, the lady boss was also an expert in making desserts.
Tako Chesnut (4pcs) - RM3.50.
With hidden chesnut hidden in the kuih, it makes the kuih soft yet crunchy when you bite into the bits.
Thai Chendol- RM3.50.
Other than the usual chendol ingredients, you get yam in your dessert too!
My most-favorite dessert of the night:
Red Rubies (Water Chesnut) - RM3.50.
I was already loving the look before even tasting it. Coloful combo, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream hidden, ahhh! Perfect for quenching my thirst and also as a perfect end to the satisfying meal.
Thai Sago - RM2.50.
And special desserts!
Being a very affordable Thai restaurant, this is a great place if you want to host your friends from outside without breaking your bank, and at the same time satisfying all their tastebuds.
If you are around that area, you must not miss this!

I love the food here too but sadly, when I went there again about a couple of weeks ago, it has closed. “To let” stickers were pasted all over the signboard. Not sure if they’ve moved as there were no notice to indicate that. Wonder if they’re closed for good. If you know what happened, pls let me know as it’s hard to find good and reasonably priced Thai food anywhere.
