Excellent food and friends - New Izakaya A La Carte Menu @ ENJU Prince Hotel
Posted by sloppychic under Japanese(Click for larger view)
Good food is meant to be shared! We celebrated Sidney’s mom birthday last week in ENJU Prince Hotel. She is a lovely and very cool lady. How many mothers do you know will enjoy Japanese food?
Spot Chef Thomas in the picture!
Craving for some fresh sashimi?
Check out the fine texture of each slice of sashimi
For appetizers, I am not sure about the name but I heard this is different appetizers will be served on daily basis. It is actually fried chicken fillet.
Tatami iwashi @ RM8.
It is made of cuttlefish, crispy, and non oily at all! Perfect to go with sake.
ENJU Dynamite roll @ RM22.
Oh dear, have you ever seen any sushi ONLY with sashimi and not the rice? The dynamite roll almost sent me to heaven! I love sashimi!!! And the new ala carte menu is actually very affordable.
Here comes the sake!
Ichinokura Junmai Taruzake @ RM50/glass.
Ichinokura Junmai Taruzake is actually hot sake. And one should never pour the sake directly out from the bottle, you should transfer it into a container, then only pour it out. The container you see on the above is known as a glass.
Sawanoi Daikarakuchi Junmai @ RM45.
The cold sake.
Awww love the glass! Somehow reminded me of my chemistry lesson back in secondary school.
Which do I like the most…? Hmmm I prefer hot sake.
Gindara tamagoyaki @ RM40.
See the glazy black cod? The texture is so so smooth and soft! It is gone in a few seconds…..50% down my stomach! I show no mercy when it comes to fish.
Shake honey no potato salad yaki @ RM19.
More fish to my delight.
Sanma Shioyaki (秋刀魚) @ RM15
Although this fish is full of tiny bones, but it is actually contains high Omega 3 and lowwwwww in fat!
Guess what? I finished the fish…all on my own.
The Omega3 I consumed that night has fulfilled my one year worth’s of quota already.
Rock & roll @ RM24.
Don’t you really love the name? Topped with mango, and prawn tempura rolled in the rice, it was a perfect combo.
Maguro tataki roll @ RM24.
I really love the fact that they are very generous with ingredients and reasonable price.
Gyunku kushiyaki @ RM15.
Yum yum grilled beef cube with pepper. The beef was just done nice, not overcooked.
Okonomi yaki @ RM30. The Japanese pizza.
It is like our fried carrot cake, but filled with prawns, tako, and the bonito flakes topping OMG! It is fun to see the flakes move sometimes.
Tori katsudon @ RM20.
Fried chicken on rice. Look at the generous amount of chicken! Crispy, tender, and love the soysauce mixed with rice.
Yaki udon @ RM24.
Love the udon! It is like hokkien mee, but the high-class hokkien mee.
See the big prawn? There were also scallops in the udon!
Santen Mori soba @ RM30.
The texture of each soba is different. And there is a raw egg along with the soba too. I tried mixing everything up together with the egg…it didn’t appear to be appetizing. So I think it is better just to eat each soba on its own.
And finally Ichigo Daifuku Strawberry mochi @ RM16 for dessert.
There is also a huge chunk of strawberry in the mochi. I love the strawberry! Not the mochi though… =/
Ahh what a foodful night.

scrumptious food.
the dynamite roll looks good~ especially for me who looooooves sashimi!
the raw egg that came with the soba was in the soba or a separated one? I learned from my husband that the egg is meant to go into the sauce of the soba and the soba dipped into the sauce and eaten just like that. Not sure if it is the same though hehehe.
Mochi looks good :). I love mochis..

What a splendid spread. The okonomiyaki, slices of fresh sashimi, and the mochi look the most promising.
