Extravaganza Chinese New Year Prosperity Set @ House of Tang, Bangsar
Posted by sloppychic under Chinese , Chinese New Year MenuChinese New Year is coming really soon, and I am so so looking forward to having my mom’s specialty - braised duckie again! But with all the hassles of preparing, my family actually sort of decided that for the next CNY, we will just eat out! (Save me from being scolded by my mom because I am very clumsy in kitchen).
If you are also looking for a place to eat out, you might want to consider this House of Tang in Bangsar, the Chinese New Year Prosperity Set Menu starts from RM488+, RM688+, to RM888+ for 10 pax.

Salmon Yee Sang with Crispy Shredded Treasures in Plum Dressing
For a start, of course we need to lou sang to kick off the CNY mood! I love the colorful dish, although it practically tastes similar everywhere, the trick is to have sufficient plum sauce the jazz up the dish!
Shark’s Fin Soup with Crab Meat and Dried Scallop in Winter Melon
The winter melon was one of the highlights as it looks REALLY cute! And the soup is so sweet.
House of Tang Braised Pork Trotter
Everyone’s favorite of the night has to be this pork trotter. The meat was so tenderly soft, and with the gravy, the combination was perfect!
Assam ‘Tom Yam’ Garoupa Fish
When we were presented with the prawns, all of us admired the presentation. Don’t you just have to love the carrot-crafted pagoda?
The assam fish was done just right, not too sour nor spicy. We polished the plate with white rice.
Baked Chicken with Herbs and Coconut Black Chicken.
I love the baked chicken as it was still juicy when served. And…ahhhh black chicken boiled in coconut! There was this unique taste in the soup, it is sweet yet light with all the coconut essence! Highly recommended!
Braised Pork with Soya Sauce
Ahh! Did you see the glazy pork? And thank god the fat is layered! So, at least I could skipped the top part
Claypot Pork Belly with Lotus Root
Steamed Rice with Waxed Meat in Lotus Leaf
Braised Dried Oysters with Fatt Choy, Top Shell, Sea Cucumber and Wok Fried Greens
Bottom right: Cute bun from the meat
My favorite of the lots has to be the lotus root. It was sliced thinly and crunchy. Love it!
French Beans with Preserved Olives and Minced Meat and 千層菜莆豆腐 Special Homemade Layered Beancurd
The beancurd was really special as there was even meat fillings in it!
Believe it or not, hokkien mee is actually one of the house specialties! I bet it would taste even more heavenly if it were hot from the wok.
Glutinous Rice Dumplings with Sea Coconut in Iced Lemon Syrup
No meal is complete without dessert! Love the colors of the dessert

Crisp Fried Chinese Brown Sugar Cake and tau fu fah.
I am sure you have eaten 年糕 many times, but have you ever tried one which is white in color?
This concluded our grand CNY dinner..thanks to the wonderful host and Richard for arranging this.
Thank you chef Koh for making the night excellent!
