Yeah i know times are bad now, and eating out is expensive, especially if you want to go for some quality meal. So, I totally support the idea of home-cooked food! (although I barely cook. LOL)
Anyway, now we can DIY Ramlee burger at home too! And the healthier one!
p/s: This is definitely not an instant-fix for ramlee-desperate in the middle of night.
You will have to buy some chicken breast, mince it, then add some pepper + salt + soy sauce + sesame oil to marinate the chicken. I minced and seasoned my chicken a day earlier and kept in the fridge. Then, when you are about to fry the patty, mix some corn flour + oats into the minced chicken and mix well.
Then, heat up some oil and fry your patty! Drop your patty into the wok only when the oil is hot, otherwise the meat will stick to your wok. Press the patty with the ladder to flatten it so it will be cooked thoroughly.
Fried until golden brown. If you are not sure, you can poke the patty with your fork to check. If you can pull out your fork without meat sticking to it, it means that it is cooked!
Now, you have to prepare the bun.
I bought a roll of burger bun from High-5, 5 pcs for RM1.90. Cut the bun into half, spread some butter and heat it up in the work WITHOUT oil. The butter will melt into your bun and your bun will be toasted abit.
Now, the ramlee style. Smash an egg into the wok and spread it thinly with ladder. Then, drop your patty into the egg and wrap it up!
Place a cheese onto your bun together with the egg and patty. At this point, your cheese will be melted with the heat from the bun and the egg.
Serve with fresh lettttttttttttttttttttttttttiis (lettuce) and tomato. And mayo and chili sauce if desired.
My ramlee tower, I really really enjoyed my burger.
It is not hard to make it too, it is just a little time consuming.
Burger anyone?

Yay! Thanks for this - I way prefer making my own burgers too but they tend to be a little hard. Maybe because I don’t like using fatty meats

If you see it as a hobby, it’s fine to spend the time. If you only want to fill up your stomach, you can ‘outsource’ it.
Well, cooking is a hobby these days.

Jason: hahahahh in a way u r right, but this is HOME MADE, the keyword is DIY ok
Pink Parisian: yeay for DIY! my meat was not too tough, i think its the flour and oat mixture. Oh yeah i should have added an egg too! Chicken breast is a good choice, lean and easy to clean
Khengsiong: u r right, actually i enjoy cooking. But the trouble is marketing and washing, esp if i just eat it alone.

Looks really good. I’m lazy to make the patty most of the time. But a home cooked meal is the the best.

I like the rice. Think it will be nice. I tried once in Kuching also the rice for the bakkuteh is so nice and tasty. You can smell the fragrance of the rice and herbs. Hungry now.
