During our Penang stay, on the second night, we moved to Pearl hotel in Perai, for the convenience of sending my sister back to the matriks in kepala batas.
We were roaming around for food, not knowing what to eat, finally settled in this Golden Claypot which looked quite promising from the exterior.
The golden claypot!
It is quite a nice and neat place. But it is not air-conditioned!
The highlight of their menu - salted chicken @ RM22. The last time I had salted chicken was like 18 years ago when my youngest sis was born. I was only 7 but already a glutton!
This chicken did not look too appetizing but it taste better than it looked. It was not THAT dry, it was slightly juicy and salty. We quite enjoyed it.
Claypot fish meat with vege. I love the vege more as it was very flavourful, but the fish was abit fishy. So, quite a let down on the fish part.
Claypot pork ribs with tomato. Nothing too significant and I think my mom cook it better.
Fried vege.
And prawn omelet. As you can see,we ordered these dishes single portion. So, the meal was not too heavy for the 6 of us. And the total bill came to around RM70.
I would say it is quite a decent clean place to dine in.

Given the interior design, it’s really surprising that it was not air-conditioned. So were you sweating?

Oh yes, just like CC pointed out, the omelet does look like a chicken silhouette! - did you eat the butt part? lol.
