Recently, I am quite into hard boiled egg. But, I must also say that peeling a hard boiled egg is not easy, it is an art. Now, let me tell you why.
I spent the first 2 minutes to rip off some of its skin. Not too pretty. But I guess it would be better.
Then, I spent the next 2 mins reaching this stage, literally struggling with the skin.
Look at the end results! Will you call this an egg? I swear I tried my best. But, life just sucks sometimes. Imagine your nasi lemak is served with this type of egg. Wouldn’t you just want to smash it to the boss?

I think you need to rinse it with cold water once you got it out. Then only you peel. There’s a method to get a smoothly peeled egg.

Hey! Dropped by from PPS.
Anyway, u boiled that egg yrself? If yes, next time, after boiling the egg until its cooked, take it out and put it into cold water.
By doing so, the egg will be separated from its shell which will make the peeling process easier.
Cheers!

No wonder you make a mess of it, you do not peel an egg, you shell it!
Some types of fruit, and prawns etc., are the only food which have to be peeled.
Try shelling the hard boiled egg next time!
Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!
PS Tip of the day; if an egg is too fresh, it is usually difficult to shell.

Hi sloppychic.
Wow, what a difficult question, IMHO a skin (soft) has to be peeled and a shell (hard) has to be shelled.
It is just the usage of these terms in the English language, maybe some learned scholars can enlighten us all regarding the grammatical niceties and other aspects?
Like other languages, English has many peculiarities, e.g. no plural form for ’sheep’, ‘luggage’, etc.

First get the eggs boiled and well cooled, (in the fridge over night). Then when your ready to peel, just run some warm/hot tap water over them for 15/25 seconds. Then crack the egg on the top and bottom, then all around it’s edge. Then they should be easy to peel the rest of the way.:)
