Once thing that I really learnt over the weekend in Penang is: Always book your hotel earlier, and NEVER EVER go travel during school/public holiday unless you really have no choice.
After some really long trouble, we managed to book a room inĀ Hydro Majestic Hotel @ Batu Feringgi, Penang. It was RM275/night and it was only so-so.
Beggars can’t be choosers i guess?
The bell boy service available. Oh, he didn’t cough before he left. If you used to watch a lot of Mr Bean, you should remember how ah Bean tipped the bellboy with a strepsils or a sweet. LOL. We tipped him anyway.
Two super single beds in the room. It was quite an okay room.
The room
With balcony too! And….guess what? The sliding door is so poorly maintained that it is a bit rusty and something wrong with the roller, therefore so hard to open. And..resulted…
MY BROKEN NAIL in attempt to open the sliding door!!!!
Gosh, i almost died of pain!!!!
Lesson: Always bring a nail-clipper or nail file with you when you travel, you never know when it will come in handy.
Last but not least, the bathroom. It was nothing so fancy, worst part is, there was something wrong with the water flow too! It is so hard to flush the stuff down!
Ugh..this is definitely not a hotel that I will ever return.

Wow, RM275. Once I was on holiday without booking a room, thinking that hotel rooms should be available anytime I want. Eventually I ended up at a hotel with no bathroom and a big hole in the ceiling.

Many hotels in Malaysia are poorly maintained. So the rule of thumb is: always look for newer hotels.

Can request to change to another room, that’s if they have extra.

There are lots of hotels and resorts in Penang, what make it so difficult to get a proper room? The best resort in Penang is Mutiara Beach Resort… too bad… closed down already… hopefully someone will revive it soon.
