Lam-Mee-Ya has been in One-U for a couple of months and finally i tried it out! It is opposite Kluang Station or next to Bread Story (or is it bread talk) in LG, previously was a Japanese restaurant.
They have stuff like lam mee, ipoh hor fun, mee rebus and etc. Ala-carte lam mee is RM8.80/bowl and they have sets too. And of course this is expensive compared to the lam mee you get in hawker. This lam mee is not too delicious nor bad, it is just normal.
If you go for Lam mee set, you can get this plate of fried dumpling and fu-chuk + one green tea (refillable) at RM15. It is great if you have 2 or more to dine with. A glass of green tea is RM1.00.
Unfortunately, the staff is quite short-handed. So, it is better to sit inner side of the shop so that those people see you.
A meal for 2 with 2 bowls of lam mee cost RM27.30. Not cheap. And i guess i won’t be returning there soon, it is just not quite worth the money.

Been to 1 Utama a few times lately, but never notice the Japanese restaurant had been converted to lam mee store.
Why do they call it Lam Mee Ya? ‘Ya’ (屋) is shop in Japanese.

Khengsiong: lol. i was wondering why they named it ‘ya’ too, trying to be funky i guess? :p

That’s pretty expensive! What to do? They need to pay rental, and we are paying for the rental when we dine there!
